So my good friend Noah organized a Character/Creature of the Month group for Sheridan Illustration students. This month's theme is either "Knights" or "Dragons" and so, this is my entry! really rushed, so the details are muddled but overall it was a good learning experience.. and a realization I need more practice :/

“Prehistoric Creatures” calendar for last year’s Computer Studies class so I’ve decided to post a sample of it here for those who haven’t seen it. Also, there’s new work being uploaded as soon as I finish these little projects. Thanks for the patience, random person looking at my blog at the moment! Enjoy!

A few friends and I went downtown this past Saturday to see The Mayan Exhibit at the ROM. I would have to say that the extra 10 bucks was worth it! There were a lot of monuments and figurines, and there was even a countdown to December 21, 2012 that people huddled around. Sadly, like any special exhibits, we weren’t allowed to take photos so my 5-10 minute sketches will have to suffice. Fun day!

So here’s a mixed collection of old and new doodles I’ve done when ideas strike me randomly:

The cover page for my brown moleskine-rip off sketchbook! pentallic are awesome, just wish they had thicker paper.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind-related kinda doodle. memory deterioration, you know how it is.. if you haven’t seen the movie, watch it. GO. NOW.

I started drawing Ringo Starr… then it progressed into a dude fishing. I believe this was from psych lecture last year.

A pirate singing falsetto and a spider. I was REALLY bored at work.

A full page spread of all sorts of random stuff.. like a basketball player’s hairy legs, Black Keys drum kit and how I pictured the ballerinas from The Black Swan before I saw the movie. It was kind of different.

Apart from work, I’ve been working on some concept art, logo designs, toon style illustrations, secret santa painting and personalized watercolour greeting cards and all sorts of other craziness. pretty awesome but oh so tired. mehhh more to come soon.

this gloomy weather ruins my mood and makes me so sleepy. blah. it’s almost impossible to get out of bed to be productive but I’ve managed to do some errands and  scan a doodle I did earlier today.

the idea for this drawing stems from me watching Finding Nemo and Nacho Libre back to back a few nights ago.. yes it was a random lineup. I guess it’s premise for something very silly and playful… if I’m not lazy, I might just take this baby into illustrator and make all sorts of digital lovemaking to it (that sounds so wrong) Oh! I also got a new job and I start tomorrow, woo-hoo!

..new art blog to keep track of my process work and finals! I was going to make another tumblr account just for artwork, but using WordPress seemed like a better idea. Here’s a slightly older personal work to start the blog off on the right foot:

This is a digital painting I did of Steve Zissou from The Life Aquatic. I just really wanted to play around with different brushes and textures in photoshop and this is what came out. I’m trying to produce a cleaner approach but it’s kind of um, not working lol. I have a few I need to upload, stay tuned!
